My passion for research and technology protection
I’ve been passionate about trade secrets, counter-industrial espionage, product diversion, supply chain risks, research and technology protection and safeguarding innovation for two decades. Through this website, as well as social media, public speaking, and publishing, I share practical insights and strategies to fortify your business. In 2025 I’ll be launching an email newsletter to empower you to protect your work.
In 2004, I wrote my thesis on Trade Secrets Theft, Fraud, Information Security, Insider Threats and innovation for a Master of Technology Management (Biotechnology) degree at The University of Queensland. I used these insights to write the SRMBOK Guide to Intellectual Assets.
Short Biography
I’m an experienced risk consultant with a track record delivering security, fraud, integrity and insider risk programs for over 20 years. I help my clients build security, fraud / integrity risk, and resilience programs; develop advanced threat intelligence, detection and response capabilities; and lead complex investigations focused on fraud and sensitive information theft.
My clients span critical infrastructure, financial services, public sector, life sciences, and DeepTech (critical technology). I lecture at the Australian Graduate School of Policing and Security (Charles Sturt University) and co-authored the book “Terrorist Diversion” in 2021. I regularly publish articles on Trade Secrets Theft and Product Diversion.
Prior to coming into consulting, I led the Commonwealth Bank of Australia’s (CBA) global fraud and security intelligence capability for 5 years, and commenced my intelligence and security career in the Royal Australian Navy.
